Posture: Your mom always told you to straighten up, didn't she? She knew what she was talking about. In this day and age of portable electronics and computers being so prevalent in our lives, we have seen an increase in "forward head posture". For every inch we hold our heads out in front of our shoulders, 30 to 40 pounds of extra tension are placed on our upper back. Pain, tightness, headaches, and more can all stem from bad posture. Let us help you straighten up.
Sleep: If you are not getting a good night's sleep, whether its due to pain or other reasons, this can have a huge adverse effect on your overall health. Your body needs good sleep to get the physiological rest to recover from everyday stress. Getting adjusted can help you get better sleep.
Stress: Speaking of stress, a body in mechanical stress can lead to a vicious cycle of emotional stress. If you're in pain because you can't turn your head, or your shoulders or lower back hurts, or you have tension headaches, this will only magnify the effects of everyday stress. Getting adjusted and restoring normal tone and function to your spinal joints can at least relieve the physical stress, and help you better deal with emotional stress you may be having.
Vitality: If you are able to move with less pain, you will move more. Our patients find they can exercise more freely, and often utilize chiropractic care when training for athletic events such as marathons or triathlons. Even more rewarding for us are those patients who are able to resume golf, bowling, bike riding, or simply return to normal walks on a regular basis thanks to being adjusted.
Athletics: We treat patients of virtually all ages, in all walks of life. As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, Dr. Damrow has enjoyed success treating athletic injuries and returning them to the field, track, bowling alley, or swimming pool. We have had great success especially with youth and high school athletes, at times in conjunction with their MD or PT, to keep them playing at optimal physical levels and less pain.
